Pte. Edgar Wade: Reg # 1917

 

Edgar Wade (1895-1917) enlisted in the Newfoundland Regiment on Oct. 10, 1915 and was killed on Dec. 3, 1917 near Marcoing, in Northern France and is buried at the Beaumont-Hamel Memorial. He was one of those involved in the disastrous attack on Beaumont-Hamel on July 1st, 1916. He was wounded in that battle.

 

Mariah Wade (widow in 1915) had a son Edgar (1895-1917) who was a member of the RNR KIA. Maria (Nee Benger) from Amherst Cove first married Aaron Stanley then a Wade.
